Quantcast

outfits and a new accessory

Hi friends! I’m back from New York – had an AMAZING time. Would you believe that I actually didn’t shop for clothes or accessories at all while I was there? Time with friends was too precious, so I’ll have to plan a shopping trip another time.

Wanted to share a couple of the outfits from the trip “in the wild.”

Sunglasses, Coach
Scarf, Dorothy Perkins

When I got home, I had a package waiting for me: a super cute ring ordered from Etsy. I love natural stones, and blues are my favorites.

What’s your favorite accessory of the moment?

Trying to pack

I’m headed to NYC in the morning, so naturally that means I spent some time tonight picking out outfits to take. It should be partly sunny and in the 50s for the most part.

This is all new from Old Navy
Light trench coat, $40
White linen blend pants, $42.94
Black tee, $22.94
Multi-colored scarf, $16.94
Cole Haan wedges

Old Navy tee, $22.94
SWAK Designs cardigan
Jag Jeans from eloquii by The Limited, $59.99
Necklace, gifted from Ethiopia
Cole Haan wedges

Old Navy ruffled henley tee, $26.94
Jag jeans from eloquii by The Limited, $59.99
Earrings, whitelotus on Etsy
Cole Haan metallic flats

I tried this dress, but it’s not going in my suitcase. I would want to wear it with black pumps and my injured ankle can’t handle those right now.

Cole Haan metallic flats, which admittedly aren’t right for this outfit.

Of course I’m packing some other flats and my tennies for all the walking. Will also pack a couple easy outfits like yoga pants and tees, just in case I would rather focus on function rather than appearance.

OOTD: Fitted and Fun

I feel like I must redeem myself after that dress from yesterday. Resounding “hell no” from you guys, which is what I was expecting. I was excited to try something different, you know?

Anyway, here is the real outfit I wore yesterday (not the raspberry potato sack):

Keep or Return?

Ever since I started having major Rachel Pally lust, I have wanted this dress that has been featured in her Spring 2012 White Label collection on her website, but has not yet been for sale. I have stalked Bloomingdales and Zappos websites weekly looking for this dress, as new items seem to trickle out from the Rachel Pally line weekly. Yesterday, I saw that Zappos finally had the dress, and of course I snapped it up.

Less than 24 hours later (yay Zappos shipping!), I had it on and was really confused. I love the color. I love the fabric. It makes me feel like a Grecian goddess.

On the other hand, I worry people will think I look like a raspberry-colored potato sack.

Here are the quick shots:

In this case, I think I’m going to send it back. I’m trying to stick hard to the “holy sh*t” rule, where I must put something on and go “holy sh*t, I look and feel AMAZING!” Too much uncertainty here to absorb the large price tag.

So what say you? Grecian goddess or raspberry potato sack?
