Geeking Out: Macy’s HER Catalog

My fashion-loving self went a little nutso after getting the latest HER catalog in the mail – it’s the Macy Woman for Plus Size quarterly lookbook they send out. If you haven’t seen it, here is a link to view it all online.

I went through it a few times, declaring “I love it all!!!” Yesterday though, I went through and narrowed down to my favorites. And by “narrowed down,” I mean “picked half of the book.” That counts, right?

Do you agree with me on these choices? Any changes you would make?

Wow, those are gorgeous! How do I get a catalog & what are the size ranges? Have you ordered from them before? Are the sizes true/small/big? Thanks for the awesome suggestions!

I’m in love with the last one. I like the 1st one, but blazers just don’t look good on me.

I love the flow of the cardigan in the last look, although I don’t like the colors (not a huge fan of that khaki on me). I like the simple black dress with the fun animal print belt. Just enough “Jersey” to make it fun, but not so much that it’s tacky.

I was at Macy’s for their Labor Day sale last week, and I saw a ton of clothes that I could’ve purchased. They’re more affordable than LB to me, because they have tons of sales. I love their INC and Style & Co lines.

      haha, you said “Jersey” :)
I do love their sales and clearance racks. In the past several months, I’ve bought way more there than at LB. I think INC and Alfani are my faves.

Okay, since leggings are on this post, I have a question. What are the best leggings you found? I’m looking for some and it’s a bit daunting as I never thought they were an option for me. But I have a few longer tunics and shorter dresses that I think they’d look wonderful under.

    Thanks!

Leggings can be tough – so frustrating!
I’ve got a few pair from last year, but they each have drawbacks:
      1. Yummie Tummie – these are good, but are a little too snug in the waist for me – the hip/thigh/waist proportions are a little off. They are also really expensive for leggings.
      2. Evans.co.uk – these were okay, but the synthetic fabric felt cheap, and it gave me my pet peeve of “dumpy butt”
      3. Old Navy – basic black leggings, cotton/spandex mix. They were inexpensive and are comfortable, but the fabric isn’t as thick as the Yummie Tummie and the waist stretches out a little. But for $11 bucks, not bad. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=51121&vid=8&pid=770241&scid=770241002

I’ll let you know if I find better ones – and let me know also if you find some I haven’t tried!

Ive been looking all over for the dress and shoes in the Leopard print. I ripped out the page not realizing that it wasnt the page with the product info. Any idea? Thanks.
